Chapter 2086 – Tomb From Reality

“Existences past?” Lu Yun frowned.

“Your Tome of Life and Death isn’t the notion of dao begetting one,” the Metal God explained. “After the mighty uprising, countless existences were born in the nothing…”

“Stop!” Lu Yun interrupted as she was about to launch into a detailed recounting of history. He stuck to his goal. “Where do I go if I want to increase my strength?”

“Continue north on this road until you see a big door. You’ll reach the other temples if you walk through it—wait, aren’t you going to consider what I just said?”

“Nope, farewell.” Lu Yun raised cupped fists and vanished in the direction that the Metal God pointed at.

She stood dazedly on the spot, abandoned by the young man she’d come to meet.

“He refused, didn’t he?” The Wave and Fire God arrived by her side.

“He didn’t even bother hearing me out,” the Metal God responded helplessly. No one had ever shown her that kind of attitude before.

“I should’ve explained everything to him before I came back to the temple.” The Fire God was equally resigned. As the only god who could leave her temple, she was so constrained by other thoughts and interests that she had to conceal the deepest thoughts that brewed in her heart.

The consequences wouldn’t bear thinking if she died and the existence within nothing kept expanding. Could the three hundred and sixty-five demon gods destroy existence?

For present day life forms, everything ended with the destruction of the world. Although the world would return to being and existence would bloom again, what did that have to do with them?

They would all be dead.

There was another possibility that after existence collided with the barrier of nothing and all life was destroyed, the newly born existence would not contain life.

For objectivity, life was an accident.

“No matter,” the Wave God shook her head. “Since the mistress has her own plans, we can always give them a try.”

“Her plans are to return to that part of reality. Whether or not we survive has nothing to do with her.” Resignation was writ large over the Fire God’s face. The major reason why the gods of the five elements had agreed to mutiny, rebel against God, and gravely injure the mistress was because they wanted to keep the duo in the endless nothing.

Only then would the duo try to stop the great devastation from taking place.

The mistress had subsequently lost her memories—or maybe not—but the Dao King and God’s plans had always centered on how to escape the nothing. They wanted to borrow the existence born of nothing and the Divine Temple of Nothing to jump out of the realm.

The plan relied on three critical steps—the indestructible patch of existence, the divine temple, and formula dao to determine the proper way. Lu Yun was the key now.

“Let’s take it one step at a time. I really can’t just accept our deaths like this.” The Metal God still possessed a bleak outlook for the future.

The process of existence expanding to the point of colliding with the barrier of nothing was an exceedingly long procedure for ordinary beings. It was sometimes so long that it felt eternal for them.

But for those beyond nihil, those who stood at the peak of nothing, it was over in the blink of an eye. There was no rhythm of time in the nothing, but there was the measurement of time. Sufficient time had passed since the temple’s rebellion that they could’ve collided with the barrier more than a hundred times now.

Hundreds, if not more, existences had been born in the nothing while the powerhouses of the divine temple continued to live on.

They hadn’t lived long enough yet and didn’t want to die. Meanwhile, differences in opinion splintered the internal workings of the Divine Temple of Nothing.

Most of the temples other than the five elements had proceeded down another extreme. They wanted to hunt down the foreigners that were the mistress, Dao King, and God.

They wanted to kill the trio and seize their memories, sifting through them to identify how to destroy existence or even ensure that further existences were not born. Only then would the final devastation cease to continue.

The temples of the five elements opposed this extremism. They could endlessly destroy the existences that appeared in the nothing, but they did not wish to kill the foreigners that’d found their way here.

Keeping the trio here and preventing them returning home was enough. The trio would naturally seek to prevent devastation from occurring.

The splintering wasn’t too serious yet, but the differences were there and it was only a matter of time before civil discord rocked the Divine Temple of Nothing. That was why the Fire God and others had set up their plans to seize the Tome of Life and Death.

Only now did they realize that they’d unwittingly fallen into the mistress’ plans. Perhaps she’d lost her memories, perhaps not.

Regardless,Sshe was doing this on purpose.

……

Lu Yun opened the door when he saw it and walked through it. The same kind of world entered his eyes, but there were no weak life forms here.

It was the void that greeted him. Towering and majestic temples hovered in the air, radiating the orders, laws, and great daos of the nothing to all of the distances within the nothing.

He saw the three hundred and sixty-five demon gods. If it wasn’t for the Divine Temple of Nothing, they wouldn’t be able to transform themselves into existences. Ancestor was the only exception.

“I was just about to go look for you, but here you are!” came a delighted voice as soon as the young man set foot over the threshold.

Lu Yun took a look at himself—he was still disguised by Shapeshifting. Although he was human, he wasn’t Lu Yun. He was just a random being, yet someone had recognized him as soon as he walked through.

He prepared to fight.

“Nonono, don’t be so violent. We seek peace!” the voice rang again. Thousands of rays of light gathered in front of Lu Yun and assembled into a charming young man.

Although he was in human form, Lu Yun was certain that this fellow wasn’t human.

“Allow me to introduce myself, I am the Light Deity.” The young man smiled gently.

“Not the Light God?” Lu Yun blinked.

“The gods are the masters of the Divine Temple of Nothing, I am yet to reach those heights,” the deity smiled. “According to the hierarchy of the divine temple, I am one bit higher than the envoys.”

“So we’re gonna fight?” A sharp light glinted in Lu Yun’s eyes and he struck a battle pose.

“No, no fighting! Those of the Temple of Light advocate peace!” the deity reiterated. “We have more important things to do!”

“You, not we,” Lu Yun corrected.

“Very well…” the deity nodded. “I’d like to ask you for a favor. Once it’s done, I can arrange an opponent for you if you wish to fight.”

“What kind of help?” Lu Yun asked warily as he sent formula dao into motion. He couldn’t deduce anything as the Divine Temple of Nothing was too sophisticated. Formula dao sometimes worked on it and sometimes didn’t.

“Tomb raiding!” came the unexpected answer. “A tomb has fallen through the barrier from reality!”

Tomb raiding…

Lu Yun wanted to retort, but nodded. It would indeed be tomb raiding. Tombs were homes of the dead. As a living being, they would be tomb raiding no matter why they entered a tomb and in what capacity.

“It might hold the way to end the great devastation!” Excitement tinged the Light Deity’s voice.
