Chapter 1040: Frontal Resistance

Chapter 1040: Frontal Resistance

Despite the injury, the giant robot was still stubbornly moving forward at a crazy speed. Nobody knew better than the Five Wheels what would happen if the robot managed to get close. A terrifying high-power electricity would cover the whole area in an instant. Even if the fragile long-range attackers managed to escape death, they would still fall into a paralysed state and be crushed into minced meat afterwards.

‘So what if they have two MTs? They will still face a tragic defeat all the same,’ some of the people in Five Wheels even maliciously thought.

Hill, whose eyes were now bloodshot like a gambler who had lost everything, shouted in a frenzy, “RUN!!!”

But a giant snake suddenly wandered out of the void. Its thick, fat tail instantly lashed out fiercely, aiming at for the wound on the robot’s leg! Simultaneously, a pulse shot which Mogensha had prepared for a long time also blasted the injured knee!

The high-tech weapon from the world of the Men in Black was truly extraordinary. A bluish-white light filled the hall, even coating every person’s face with a layer of cold metallic shine. The hall was swept by a strong wind that felt like a Force 12 hurricane.

The robot’s leg, which was already severely damaged to begin with, could no longer sustain such a heavy blow. The leg broke off at the knee with a loud crack. Its gigantic body half-knelt on the ground, while its inertia brought it staggering forward.

Bolts and nuts were ejected everywhere from the broken part of the leg, their high speed turning them into dangerous bullets. The severed wires at the broken knee shot electric sparks out that were three meters long, lighting the faces of everyone around it in an eerie glow. The robot’s main body naturally did not end up well. The off balance robot, carried by its terrifying momentum, steered towards a different direction and slammed head-first into a wall. The whole underground laboratory felt like it was in danger of collapsing from the impact!

The steel wall that was as thick as 5 centimeters was easily torn apart. The fire alarms sounded non-stop. The sprinklers on the ceiling sprayed down torrents of water, which only served to aggravate the short circuits taking place inside the giant robot.

This situation was actually predicted by Party Ace. Since they were given limited time to deal with the giant robot as it would explode when the countdown ended, its HP and defence would certainly not be too high. From this, it could be inferred that the robot must belong to the category of berserker type bosses. They usually had average HP, low defence, but rather strong offensive power.

Therefore, Party Ace’s plan was simple — a frontal assault! Let’s see which one would fall first, the boss or their defensive line! With Party Ace’s enhanced HP and MP, plus the various live-saving measures possessed by Zi and Mogensha, there was nothing to worry about even if they lost the gamble.

Now that the leg of the giant robot was broken and it had rammed into a wall like a bull in heat, the rest were easy. Even the people from Five Wheels had joined in the attacking.

The only long-range attack of the robot was to throw a net of electricity over the enemy. Not only could it cause great damage, the victim would also be left paralysed for a long period of time, which would then allow the super-powerful robot with super-strong mobility and explosiveness to ravenously ravage the victim.

But the giant robot that had its leg broken no longer had any explosiveness or mobility to speak of. So, under the bombardment of the group of contestants, the robot could not even last ten minutes before it fell down smoking. Next came a series of violent explosions.

After that, at the request of Five Wheels, everyone stopped attacking. Hill went forward and pried open the battered cockpit with hands that were trembling in excitement, then pulled out the robot operator who was already half-cooked. It was a miracle that the man was still alive, even if he seemed like he was barely hanging on. Despite that, he still glared at Hill with fury in his eyes. He then pulled a wrench from behind him and gave Hill a sneak attack on the head.

This attack was reminiscent of a scene in the movie “Kung Fu Hustle” in which Sing had just been badly beaten by “the Beast” and his head had plunged into the ground, but he still struggled to lift half a piece of stick to knock on the head of the powerful Beast. The sight was filled with a comical stubbornness.

Hill was not in the mood to care about a mere wrench that could do him no harm. He spread open his palm and a white paper talisman gradually took form on it. The talisman was formed entirely from his own MP, so it was a very difficult process.

But just as the white talisman was about to fully take shape, the faint sounds of gospels rose in the air. A large number of lovely little angels then flew out of nowhere to gather around the talisman formed by Hill and tore it up without much effort!

Hill’s eyes were full of anger and agony after all that effort of his was wasted. Not only that, he also coughed up a mouthful of blood. However, he knew he had no time for regret because the life of the robot operator, who was also an important storyline character, was slipping away by the minute. Therefore, he did not even stop to wipe away the blood on his mouth before he started repeating the same mantra again.

Hill performed the spell six times in a row, but they all failed without exception thanks to the interference of the angels! The unfortunate thing was that the spell seemed to use a lot of MP, so after the third attempt, Hill had administered an honorary dosage just to fully replenish his MP bar.

In other words, if this seventh attempt failed, it would mean that Hill’s Awakener advancement mission would fail again and he would have to start again from the beginning! Besides the fact that he only had enough MP to cast one last spell, the robot operator was also on his last breath.

Party Ace and Five Wheels both understood this. The members of Five Wheels stared at Hills with differing emotions as he exhausted his last bit of MP to cast the spell for one final time. There were looks of envy, ridicule, expectation and mockery on their faces.

The white talisman paper gradually took shape, and this time, it seemed like the holy power would not intervene! Hill’s eyes were full of ecstasy, but when his mantra was 80 percent completed, the hymn of gospels rose in the air again, this time even louder than before! Even more despairing was the number of those hateful little angels this time. They swarmed over like flies swarming to a pile of sh*t in the wild!

“FUUUUUUUU…..” Hill screamed with anger and indignation.

But at that moment, an overwhelming darkness emanated throughout Mr. Darkness’ body like surging clouds covering the light! The man was now letting Party Ace see his real strength as the party leader, a strength which gave him an authority that even the party’s MT could not shake!

“God’s grace is like a prison; God’s power, like the sea!”

Mr. Darkness’ hoarse voice resounded in the hall. Behind him, a vague but terrifying figure emerged. It looked as though it had three heads and six arms, but also indistinguishable at the same time. What could be clearly distinguished were the weapons in its hands such as a trident, a crescent saber, a skull bowl, a skull drum, and a tendon rope. A huge snake twined around the neck of the blurry figure.

“Immovable. Acalanatha. Formation!”

Mr. Darkness spat out these three words with extreme difficulty. Suddenly, a deep darkness surrounded the area and completely drowned the holy light. The little angels turned stiff in the air. After an instant, their skin and flesh were eroded by the darkness, turning them into little skeletons with tiny bone wings. Their bones were black as if they had been poisoned. Eventually, all of them fell to the ground and became broken bone pieces!

Under the protection of the formidable ‘Immovable Acalanatha Formation’, Hill finally completed his spell. He slapped the completed spell between the eyebrows of the heavily-wounded robot operator. The operator immediately convulsed violently. By the time he opened his eyes again, his pupils had disappeared and his chest was moving up and down heavily. He looked like he was going to stop breathing in the next second.

Hill grabbed the man’s chest and screamed at him in a frenzy.

“Tell me the password, quick!”

“The password is SIP12391, master,” answered the operator dully.

Hill fell on the ground on his butt, gasping and sweating as if he had lost the last bit of his strength. His hair was so wet with sweat that he looked like he had just taken a shower. After resting for a while, he strode to a wall on the side and pushed down on a few spots. A hidden door which required a password to unlock appeared in front of him. Hill entered the password he had just obtained, then opened the door and stepped inside. By the time he stepped outside again, he was brimming with joy. Evidently, he was now an Awakener.

This showed that Mr. Darkness had not told them the complete story. He only said before that the goal of this mission was the Shroud of Jesus, but now it seemed like he had kept some additional information from them. However, that was understandable. If he had really told them everything he knew as soon as he met them, he would have been an idiot.

The powerful robot ended up not dropping any key, likely because it was attacked by a whole group of people. If Hill’s Awakener advancement mission was performed by him alone, the reward would probably be really generous.

Party Ace had now showed their strength and also fulfilled half of their promise to Five Wheels. The group of people hurried back to Party Ace’s hiding spot. Strangely enough, the T-1000 had not shown up during this period. There was no trail of it at all, as if it had simply disappeared from this world.
