Rise of The Anti God

Chapter 287 Luna's Frustration

Al-run understood that Damien was asking him why he was spreading poison throughout the forest.

He calmly replied, "It\'s not because I want to. But because my powers are unstable because of my injuries. I can\'t recover in this plane, and soon enough, I would disappear one day. Still, I tried to contain the poison within this forest only without letting it spread outside."

Damien felt a bit bad that the remnants of an ancient era like this spirit before him were dying. After all, this spirit might be the last of its kind, and there would be no more.

He understood that Al-run never meant any harm by spreading the poison through this forest. In fact, it seemed like he was doing his best to prevent more people from getting harmed.

It was only because of human greed many died in this forest.

Al-run then said, remembering the hesitation he saw before in Damien\'s eyes, "You don\'t have to feel pressured to do anything. In fact, it\'s up to you, and even I cannot force anything upon you other than showing you the way. So, if one day you feel like you need the power to destroy evil, then come meet me."

Damien slowly nodded. However, he felt that there would be no way he would set out on a mission to destroy any so-called evil.

He already had enough on his plate and his own things to worry about. But of course, he kept these thoughts inside.

Damien soon bid goodbye to the spirit, and as he was returning back, Luna\'s cold voice sounded in his mind, "We have a lot to talk."

"So do I," Damien replied with furrowed brows.

He continued, "Tell me, did you already know that I would be inheriting the Nether God\'s legacy? Is that why you sent Al-run here?"

"How the hell do I know? I barely remember the events that happened since the advent of my consciousness, and other than that, I only know about following the Ethereal Way. But if what the poison spirit said was true, it must mean that I knew the Nether God\'s Origin Seed was still out there."

Damien didn\'t know to react and feel about this whole thing since he knew Luna\'s most hated enemy was the one who made her end up in this state.

He had no doubt that she would rip apart the one who offended her a million times at least.

Still, he was impressed that the Nether God, despite dying later, was able to reduce Luna to this state.

However, he remembered the Nether God telling him that it was due to his foolishness he met his demise.

So, in the end, he still had no idea who was more powerful.

"Do you have any idea how much I want to destroy that Origin Seed in your ethereal core?" Luna asked in a dark tone.

Damien could feel a primal pressure from within his soul, but he still replied, "Look, he is dead, and I am the one who is having his Origin Seed now. So, other than the fact that you need me to become more powerful, there is no point in destroying the object of someone who already died long ago. As a goddess, shouldn\'t you be mature about these things?"

"Oh, really? I wonder if you would say the same thing if you saw the Origin Seed of the god who manipulated you," Luna sarcastically said.

However, she already calmed down before, since even without Damien saying, she knew there was no point in destroying Damien\'s Origin Seed.

Damien suddenly felt tongue-tied as he heard Luna\'s retort. In fact, even he couldn\'t say how he would react if he came upon something that was related to the one who manipulated him.

But Luna hated the fact that Damien\'s Origin Seed and the powers that came along with it would be a constant reminder of the person that made her like this.

If she had the choice, she would want to obliterate everything that belonged to the Nether God even if he was dead.

For now, Damien wasn\'t afraid that Luna would do anything rash. But thinking about the future, he was worried if Luna would destroy his Origin Seed after gaining back her powers. If she wanted to bring him down with her, he wouldn\'t be able to resist at all.

Luna saw through him and said, "Hmph, you don\'t have to worry about your precious little Origin Seed. If I wanted to destroy something, I would have done it already, even if it kills me."

\'Phew, sometimes she is indeed scary,\' Damien had no doubt that Luna was not lying. He could see that she would have paid any price to kill her most hated person.

However, he also remembered the Nether God telling him that the last person who would hurt him in this world would be Luna.

He suddenly felt that the Nether God knew something that he and Luna didn\'t. After all, the Nether God should have already known that Luna was the goddess he fought against.

So, how could he say something like that so confidently?

Damien felt that the matters between the Nether God and Luna were not simple.

Since he couldn\'t ask Luna, he wondered why the Nether God even came to this dimension and why Luna fought him if she knew about the consequences of fighting a god on the same level as her.

Still, he felt that Luna\'s mood should be pretty sour after learning that she didn\'t really have a good victory against someone else.

After all, all this while she was proudly thinking of herself as the strongest, but only today she learned the hard truth that she didn\'t end up like this because of some despicable plot but only because of a head-to-head battle.

"Can you really see the future since you told Al-run that a mortal would come upon him one day?" Damien questioned since for someone like Al-run to stay hidden in a mortal plane for all these years meant that he had absolute faith in the Ethereal Goddess.

"I can, but it depends on many factors, and sometimes the future I see may or may not happen. Still, if I really told the poison spirit to stay in this plane, it must mean I saw something," Luna said in a contemplative tone as she wondered why she would send the poison spirit here if the Nether God was already dead and Damien already had the Origin Seed.

So, how could he destroy the remnants of the Nether God when the Nether God\'s Origin Seed was already within Damien. If he was the chosen one to erase any remnants of evil, how could he do that if he already one of the so-called evil remnants inside him?

She felt that she could only investigate further after recovering either her memories or powers.

Damien felt surreal that he learned a part of the history of the long-gone universe, which involved gods and other divine beings.

If he learned about these things in his previous life, he would have a hard time believing them.

After coming upon many things related to gods and the ancient era, Damien felt that this planet must not be simple.

He knew that all his answers would have been answered if Luna had her memories but asking anything now was utterly useless.

He sighed, thinking that he was pulled into the world of gods and their conflicts despite him being a mortal only.

Luna was also feeling complicated about the whole thing and very angry at the Nether God since she didn\'t really think he was the reason for her current state.

But in the end, only someone like Nether God stood a chance against her considering how she was stronger than everyone in her dimension.

Now again, she felt that she should recover her memories and powers as fast as possible since who knows if there were other shocking things or events she had yet to learn.

A strange silence was maintained as Damien made his way out towards his home.

He vigilantly got out of the barrier and hurried home before more people rush towards the barrier.

He was sure quite a big commotion would be happening tomorrow, considering how two of the prodigal heirs met their demise mysteriously with a dead suspect.

With only an old woman for a suspect and nothing else that could point to him, Damien was happy that he got rid of two bugs easily.

Since Damien already told Valentina everything was alright, she didn\'t bother asking much after reaching home.

However, she was impressed that Damien had a way to enter the Ancient Boneyard Forest without getting poisoned.

While sleeping, Damien decided to visit the Forsaken people tomorrow and make preparations for entering the Gateway of the Gods.

However, he realized he was getting too ahead of himself by forgetting the amount of soul essence he would need to enslave a Heaven Ethereal Realm beast.

So, he asked Luna, "Luna, how much soul essence would I need to sacrifice for a High-Level Heaven Ethereal Realm beast?"
